I bought 4 strings (total 1600 LEDs). 100% working/no burnt out bulbs. The brightness is ok considering it is 72 feet long and runs on 1 small battery. Definitely not as bright as regular 120 volt LEDs but great for places where there is no electricity. It has photocells for automatic operation from dusk to dawn. 8 different modes is very cool. I expect the battery will last a lot longer if you choose the slow on/off mode. If you know what you are doing, you can easily hack it by connecting 1 or 2 extra 1.2V AA batteries in parallel. If one battery lasts 8 hours, I reckon the extra battery will last all night. It remains to be seen whether the solar cells will work with an additional 1 or 2 batteries. You may need to manually charge the multi-battery hack periodically if the solar array can't keep up. I'm guessing maybe once a week if that's the case. It opens easily with 4 small Phillips screws.
