I like that it's open source, meaning anyone can use or contribute to improving this tool (it has an amazing community).
It also allows for many different ways in which you could customize your own experience when using OSM - there are so much options! You have control over how detailed/accurate maps get updated by adding new features as well editing existing ones via various tools available within osm itself such as JOSm / QGIS etc.. The only thing i dislike about OMS at present time would be its lacklustre GUI compared with other mapping software out their but given enough resources they will surely fix all these issues soon!! Try them both before deciding what fits best into ur needs & budget :) Map creation- Editing data entry :D.
