It's cotton, but not too much cotton. The material is light. It's comfortable and soft, but the carving is poor. My daughters only wear them twice. The thread in the crotch unraveled after the first wash. After the 2nd wash, the threads unraveled in several places. I don't want to waste my time sewing them so I just donated them after the 2nd wash.
