I bought this unit at the end of July 2018, now February 2019 and I just threw it away. I used it off and on from Time to time to find out we clean our carpets and furniture. This morning when I was using it I picked it up and found that it was leaking oil all over my furniture. So I call the carpet doctor and figured, that it is certain they will repair or replace it for me as I have only had it a few months. Instead I was told that I would have to pay under their warranty to send it to their center and they would fix it and pay to ship it back to me.By then, when I bought the box and gasket big enough for the unit and paid for shipping on such a large item, I would have another $30-40 ode r lost more only to be without the device for 2-3 weeks while they get it repaired and returned it. I understand things happen and sometimes you just have a bad part or something that didn't install properly. I don't expect perfection. The fact that they charge their customers financially to fix faulty equipment only adds to the insult to injury and terrible customer service. I gave them the opportunity to improve, but they failed. I will never buy a Rug Doctor product again and will tell my friends and family as well.
