A few years ago I visited a Michelin tire shop at a van rally. Representatives said it would be a good idea to put something under the tires to keep them from sitting on the concrete. I tried thin plastic mats but they fell apart after a few months in the sun. , they prevent the tires from contacting the concrete and by design prevent the tires from possibly going flat. They were easy to ride (they didn't slip because of the rubber pads on the bottom) and they were wide enough for the entire tire. I'll see if they hold up in the sun and update my observations here.
