Great quality, confusing instructions

Def winner in doorbell security. The picture quality is amazing, plus you can zoom in and out and talk to people. Installs well. Not difficult, but not just "plug in and go". You need to charge the doorbell overnight first. While charging, you can make marks for installing screws on the front panel. Pro tip: just drill pilot holes. Trust me I wouldn't lie to you. Screws don't screw anything, no matter what the instructions say - drill holes and save time. Also, there is no controller for vinyl siding. Yes, it is, but it's only left/right adjustable. For vinyl siding, you will need a 15 degree up/down adjustment*** to accommodate uneven siding. Tilting left or right will not solve the up/down problem if the camera is pointing too far up or down. (If you read the manual this will become clear). My solution was to install it on the door frame. Luckily my siding doesn't fit directly into the frame. There is flat vinyl trim around the door frame, so I put it there. There was enough clearance between the frame and the door for everything to work well, and the door didn't scratch the camera. Part of the doorbell call is how the wifi talks to the doorbell and captures video images that are sent to your phone. Bit of a hassle that there is no Micro SD in the kit. It ends up being about keeping videos of pirates on the porch and other reptiles. Also, the doorbell will have a sound if you don't install an SSD card. I know they're cheap, but still. Why not just throw one in the box, everything comes from China anyway. Do you understand what I mean? The images are sharp and clear. "Human Recognition" AI works well. Notifications are instant. All pretty chic. However, trying to set a schedule is insane. If you set night mode timers, the day/away timers will be messed up. No matter what I do, there are times without cover. So I just manually press the "Day" or "Night" mode. Maybe one day I'll figure out how to plan things, but right now it's not on my to-do list. Very frustrating so I'll just refrain from doing it. It is also unclear to the regimes themselves "what” they are doing exactly. .does it just alert you when people come onto the porch, or does it sound the alarm right away? I still have no idea and found that the "Alarm Clock" feature is very sensitive and doesn't send an alert to your phone, it actually turns on the alarm squeak. I scared myself and refused a nice relaxing bath because some kids were walking down the street and it set off the alarm. I had no idea the alarm was so sensitive and didn't even know it was back on, confusing instructions. Plus, when I know the package has been delivered, I can (I think) set this thing up so that any porch pirates will come even close to the porch and the alarm will blow them up. It's like an alarm clock. Lol, I still don't know exactly how to install it properly. The instructions are very vague but at least I know that if I can set an alarm it will go off if someone approaches the door day or night. (I'm imagining a stray cat sounding an alarm one night which gave me a complete heart attack lol). This device is a little more expensive than most, but has great reviews online and is built to survive extreme winter and summer conditions. Weather. No, he won't survive 130 degrees Death Valley or -30 degrees Montreal, but he'll be fine under most normal human conditions, according to the reviews. Integration with Alexa Dot. It probably is, but I keep hearing Alexa say she can't connect to the doorbell or something. That might be intended for an Alexa show with a video screen, but presumably the dots can at least speak through the doorbell. And I could have sworn they should be able to activate different modes. Either way, connecting to Alexa is tedious, so be aware. Maybe you're luckier than me. Another minor annoyance is that the security sticker for your door/window is ridiculously difficult to remove from its backing. Serious. Sounds like you'd be better off just getting it on tape and avoiding disappointment. He eventually breaks free from his paper prison, but it literally takes forever. I sealed mine before actually installing the unit. The doorbell has been charged. I figured a security sticker is better than no security sticker and criminals don't know if there are hidden cameras so why not. Security when charging the doorbell. All in all, this is a great deal for a solid security device that's fully featured, yet has a nice compact design. Personally, I would only recommend it over the Ring for its purported all-weather survivability. However, if you live in a temperate climate, Ring would be my top pick for overall comparability to Alexa and brand awareness. While I haven't seen the ring footage, I can't comment on the clarity of the image. I know the picture quality of this doorbell is excellent even in night vision mode. crystal clear images. Highly recommended!
