Review on Willow & Everett Whistling Tea Kettle - 2.75 Quart Stove Top Tea Pot with Stainless Steel, Mirror Finish & Strainer by Vedprakash Trilltight

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Reconsidering my previous rating of 5 stars to 3

Review after 4 months: Two stars deducted for the following reasons: 1. Heat protection: The silicone is not thick enough to fully protect the hand from heat. I have to use an oven mitt, which isn't too annoying, just frustrating.2. Trigger: More difficult to handle than I initially thought. It takes more pressure to compress during pouring than it probably should.3. Outlet angle: In order to empty the kettle completely, you have to stand on your head. Harder because of #1 and #2 above.4. Anti-rust: Others note that rust appears on the internal seams. For years, with every kettle I've owned, I've emptied the kettle completely after each use and then left the lid open to dry. Not only do I do this to prevent rust, but also to prevent mineral build-up. It's difficult with this kettle for No. 3 above. And especially because of #1 above, it's difficult to pour out all the water when it's hot. However, I still love the kettle although I would not recommend it to my grandmother or anyone with physical issues due to depression and watering issues.

Pros
  • Whistle while you work: Compatible with both gas and induction, this smart kettle is made with an advanced system of 5 layers of stainless steel, iron and aluminum that heat up quickly. So relax - our kettle will be boiling when it's time to pour.
Cons
  • Some disadvantages
