FYI: I returned a cheap dual docking station that obviously misrepresented its capabilities. Note that cheap devices do NOT support hot plugging. If you remove or add a hard drive, the other is immediately unmounted. The performance of the cheap device I had was terrible too. Good with one drive, but slightly better than USB 2 with both. I mean, that's the whole point. However, the OCW unit is top notch. Each compartment is 100% independent. I used it to zero out about 30 drives (3.5 and 2.5, HDD and SSD) and it worked flawlessly, both drives ran at full speed. It takes a lot of money to spend 3x for something that looks the same, but believe me it's in a different league. CONS: * The buttons are cumbersome and the instructions for turning each compartment on and off aren't very clear. It might look like it, but it really isn't, you have to hold the button down longer --* It's expensive.* The cables that come with it are ridiculously short. I had to buy my own. ADVANTAGES: * It's legal. No hardware tags.* Looks great, has some weight.TLDR; Don't waste your time with nameless garbage. It's quality and USB 3.1 Gen 2, you don't need a new dock until SATA runs out.
