This SD card's packaging makes some pretty bold claims about its speed and performance β 160MB/s read and 120MB/s write. I understand that it says "to" here, which means there are factors that can cause a speed drop, so I tested this card with a tool that tests almost every read/write scenario, and I have the test with me done more than one card. Reader. The test results were identical to the performance of the EVO Select SD memory card - the maximum read speed was around 90 MB/s and the write speed was 80 MB/s. I would like to know under what circumstances Samsung managed to achieve the claimed speeds reach because I couldn't even get close. Big files, smaller files, single-threaded, multi-threaded, nothing affected those numbers, not even enabling write caching. You may be able to paste this into a Mac or Windows computer, copy files to or from it and see higher numbers. as this is logged in the status window from time to time, but these operating systems have many little tricks they use to make the transmission appear to be moving faster than it actually is. I guarantee that if you measure the actual time it takes to transfer a given amount of data, you won't get more than the numbers in this test. I tested it at the same level as the EVO Select card, which costs about 30% less. for the same capacity and the results were identical. My tip: Just get the EVO - it's not as fast as advertised, but a lot cheaper.
