**For those who aren't obsessively skimming product information or reviews, the flash colors are now more subtle. The blue and black elastics now use black zippers, while the beige elastics now use white ones. **One thing I like is how strong the elastic is. I have thick hair and lately I've been trying to get by with a set of small hair ties that have a half hold. These headbands are big and mean! My ponytails and buns feel secure. People here have asked if the bracelet is too tight - I think mine isn't. When I twist my wrist back and forth like turning a knob, I can feel the hair ties move independently of my wrist, indicating that the hair ties have enough slack to wear comfortably. suggest anyone can simply pull back the velvet to reveal the hidden zipper. Technically that's true. I tried that after getting them - you actually push the zipper inwards by pressing with your thumbs, which causes the velvet to shrink a bit to hide it. **If you want things to be more discreet you can try laying the zip flat along the zip first and maybe the velvet will hold it in place so it doesn't dangle loosely.** Due to the zip it is the Fabric isn't right to play around with the zipper area a lot - but then again, no one will think you can hide anything in your scrunchie anywhere, so ignorance alone offers some protection. If you have things stored there and are about to leave, you can always ask a friend or family member to check the zipper is hidden once it's in your hair. As a precaution, choose black if you have really delicate items inside like money or your keys, as the black zipper is practically invisible, especially if you can use velvet to tuck it away. However, I just discovered that all zippers are different lengths. Black is the shortest at about 2.5 inches, black is nearly 4 inches, and blue is somewhere in between, maybe 3.2 inches or so. It's a pretty significant difference, so I think I'm either missing something in the specs or it's just embarrassingly poor quality control. The actual quality of the product is top notch which makes the different zipper lengths even more confusing. Overall I'd definitely recommend these if you're ok with big scrunchies and/or like hidden pockets - it's a fantastic idea and aside from the weird issue with the different zip lengths, the quality is wonderful. Definitely a great item if you don't have enough arms or pockets to get around!
