Mount the mounting plate first!
Very easy installation. The trick is to remove the plastic mounting plate and install it in the place where the old bulb came out. Attach the rubber grommet to the mounting plate and then insert the new LED lamp assembly. This keeps the fans open to fresh air and the lamp unit becomes waterproof again. The instructions don't mention this.
