However, I would not take a watch with a NATO strap into the surf because while the strap is unlikely to break, the watch's two spring bars can pop out in the surf and your watch can disappear under the waves. In the event that the spring bars pop out due to belt pressure, WOCCI not only supplies three additional spring bars, but also a spring bar tool. Finally, the nylon used in the belt does not scratch and is not "chemically abrasive".
