I originally bought these Rewire connectors for my boat trailer but fixed 3 extension cords that I accidentally cut while working in the garden. I also repaired the cord on my circular saw instead of sending it in for a new cord. These connectors provide a watertight, very strong connection. All you have to do is strip about a quarter inch of the wires and insert them into the ends of the connector, making sure the stripped wire goes into the solder in the center of the connector. Then hit it with a heat gun and I still taped it around just in case.
