I bought this to charge an AGM battery in my RV, power a small TV and connect an iPhone. After installing it I was shocked to find that this item was drawing over 15 amps from the battery which makes no sense. The only thing that consumes energy during operation is a light switch and a voltmeter. You hardly have to consume anything. I connected a 120 watt inverter to my cigarette lighter and then connected my small TV to the inverter. It worked for about 30 seconds, then I smelled burning plastic and metal and the TV and inverter turned off. I immediately turned off the TV and the inverter. When I looked at the wiring on the back, the positive power wire melted completely through the plastic and the wire itself melted. I was very lucky that this happened while watching him, otherwise it could have started a fire. Luckily it didn't short out my TV inverter when the wire melted. Something is wrong with this item, either a crossed wire or a manufacturing defect. I have been working with 12 volts for over 30 years and have never seen anything like this. Please do not buy this product. Revain really needs to stop selling it before it starts a fire.
