I love this camera: camera and photo

I received this camera last week, I am very satisfied. I used to use the very basic Kodak EasyShare program, but I wanted something that would give me more zoom and allow me to take better close-ups. so easy to use) but it turned out not to be a problem at all. Screen modes are easy to read and understand (icons can be set large or small). I love having a full user manual as part of the software - it was easy to read the manual and get a good overview of the camera and then explore more detailed features in my free time. I mainly used the intelligent auto mode, macro setting and zoom. I took several shots of our 3 month old grandson (okay, full disclosure, I took 74 shots of our grandson when I first used the camera) in different lighting conditions. The photos are just amazing. Clear, detailed, every lash is visible. I bought an 8GB Class 6 memory card with a camera which I believe can save quickly and I can take one shot at a time that quickly (the amount of time the image is displayed after the shot can be adjusted on the camera from zero to 2 seconds) so I caught a lot of smiles. The camera is heavier than I expected (good for stability for me) as most of it is metal. I like the battery and USB connectors because they are sturdy yet easy to open and close. I put some photos online and they are beautiful on screen. I printed a few of these too and they look just as great. I am amazed at the sharpness of zoomed photos. In some reviews, reviewers complained about the lack of a viewfinder and problems seeing the screen in sunlight. According to the manual, there is a screen setting that makes it easier to read in bright sunlight. If it's ever sunny here I'll try that. So far the battery life is good so I'll wait and see if I need a backup battery or not. I look forward to using the additional modes and learning more about the camera. I just enjoy it and am very happy that I have this camera. I hope this review is helpful to others - I read many, many reviews before purchasing the camera and am grateful to anyone who took the time to write one. One more thing, Revane offered to buy a Case Logic camera bag with the camera and I bought it. It's a nice little bag and the camera just about fits in, but since I want to carry my charger and possibly a USB cable I'll continue to use my larger bag. Instead, I'll keep my wireless laptop mouse in a small case. Update April 3, 2011: It's been a month since I bought my camera and the more I use it the more I like it. Although I use IA a lot, I'm becoming more and more familiar with the modes for specific photo situations and it's now practically easy to change modes, adjust settings etc. Today I took some close-up (indoor) photos of flowers and these are by far the clearest and most detailed close-ups I've ever taken. So far I've only taken one or two photos outdoors due to the weather, so I'm really looking forward to taking my camera outside soon.
