Positive and negative aspects. I use the Futuro thumb brace but the velcro wears out very quickly. This brace has a stronger velcro, but I had a little problem getting the velcro around my thumb so it fits properly and doesn't end up sticking out. Because of this, it tends to get caught on sleeves and other similar items from time to time. The thick, strong velcro around the wrist is great, but it's a bit wide. It is the same size as the part it sticks to and this causes a problem as the Velcro edge extends beyond the bottom edge of the brace. All in all, I might buy another one when this wears out. It seems to last longer than the Futuro brand. This brace stabilizes my big toe and keeps it from hurting with arthritis. After wearing it often, I can take it off and rotate the can opener with pain, but I have to wear it often. Washing your hands is a little easier with this bandage than with the Futuro brand. As long as it's not bulky and not too hot to wear in that 100 degree heat. It limits my wrist's range of motion a bit, but not that much. I have to adjust to more elbow extension or body rotation, but I'd prefer that over the alternative.
