I've had one like this on my Kawasaki Versys for many years. Easy to use, works great and doesn't bother. I've tried several other brands on my T7 just wanted to try something different and cheaper. I tried the model attached to the end of the pole; too picky to adjust and practice. I tried a cheap one that hits the brake lever; uncomfortable and ugly. I also tried a large paddle; By the way, it wasn't a real gas lock. In the end I gave up and just got another atlas, which is what I had to do all the time. Of course, this isn't true cruise control, but if not, then this is the best alternative.
