The leg broke off for furniture

But right now after the holidays I feel plumper than usual. But this afternoon, as I sat on a chair, I slowly slid forward and the leg gradually came loose. On closer inspection, as I sat on the floor wondering what the heck happened, I saw that the other leg had also come loose. I weigh less than 150 pounds so I doubt I broke the weight limit for a chair, but it was still sad to be on the floor. I like the fact that I work from home and my dog was more excited that I was up there than surprised that I lowered myself to the ground. I have had a bowel movement for 3 months now. I could live with the fact that the padding wasn't the best (which wore out quickly) but when I put the foot back on I set it upright and I saw that it had separated again and wouldn't support the extra weight. I'm not sure if I'll try to salvage it by using ugly screws to attach all the legs and secure it or if I'll write it off for a total loss ($170 after tax). Changed from 2 to 1 star after closer inspection. I can hope to apply some wood glue and maybe add a screw but I wouldn't trust it to reseat. Less than 3 months old and my "return window" was 30 days postpartum. I could buy a lousy, ugly plain chair for under $100 that would probably last 3 years or more and I can't find a way to get a refund, an exchange, or even a stupid apology. . I just went back and looked at other reviews. One and two star ratings confirm that the chair is stable for 2-3 months, then the legs break off. Judging by the time frame of the reviews, they all seem to have been written at the same time as these reviews were not published at the end of October when I bought them, but were published in November and January. DO NOT BUY.
