Regular tennis shoes have better water resistance. Don't let the water out when it's wet. I think that's fine if I need emergency drinking water in a survival situation, but it's less important if I have bilge water. I'm a marine worker, the comfort I've come to expect from xtratuf has been replaced by the feel of lumpy cardboard laid 3/4 minus the gravel. The boots I've worn for years allow me to walk on slippery decks, Spider-Man style. With the new Xtraslick outsole, I barely have time to walk down the gangway. Even in sunny weather, my flip flops outperformed the new Xtralames. The only accurate description of these shoes is the shark connotation. In fact, the shark that ripped my legs off would be better than spending the day in those shoes.
