Great replacement for brake light bulbs. They're pretty bright, but make sure you get the right color for your application. As for direction in my 17 Ford C-Max, I didn't. A friend will now use them in the brake lights on his 2009 Challenger. Even after replacing all FOUR headlights (yes I had to order the yellow ones) I got a hyperflare. Resistors should arrive today. Hyper Flash was NOT an issue with only 2 LED bulbs installed, so be aware. Once you've learned how to remove a headlight or taillight from a car (see YouTube, I did it), replacing the bulbs is very easy; pull out, plug in, done! As for durability, time will tell.
