Amazing versatility in a small package

I'm a UCLA Film School graduate so it's fair to say I've worked on many sets including working with cinematographers on creative lighting scenes. When you need a big light in a small space, that's always a problem as most small battery operated flashlights just don't have the power or versatility to do a lot. This little light is amazing nonetheless. It puts out a surprising amount of light for its size and is adjustable in increments of 1 to 100 (well, 0, but obviously not). The color temperature is very accurate over the entire range from 2500K to 8500K. While this obviously can't be your key light in most situations (note: if you're just vlogging or doing something up close you can definitely use it as your key light), it's a solid fill and an amazing background light or hair light... which is easy to install and set up. The battery lasts about 2 hours at full brightness at 5500k in my tests. Build quality is excellent, with a solid and well finished aluminum frame, powder coated I believe (I'm not an expert on metal finishes). It features two different mounting holes, a small LCD screen for easy setup, and a very intuitive control layout. For the most part, I figured it out without even looking at the instructions. It includes a cold shoe mount, USB charging cables (including a USB-A to USB-C adapter), and a nice, durable semi-hard case with room for all the included accessories. But the real pleasure of this flashlight is its versatility. in creating some common effects used in narrative videos. You get a wide range of RGB (it even includes a list of "recipes" for tweaking the light for hundreds of different hues, so you can always match what you've done before). It's not as bright as daylight or incandescent in RGB modes, but that's to be expected and doesn't matter in most cases. In addition, there are different modes that can really enrich your scenes: police car, ambulance, fire truck starts it, but you also get candle modes that not only reproduce color but also flicker (applies to police/ambulance/fire brigade too, just to be clear). You also get 2 different lighting options, with realistic semi-random 'strike', cinematic mode, and I think there might be another one I forgot. In short, if you're looking for a small, surprisingly powerful, and incredibly versatile light source to complement your main lighting setups, this is a fantastic piece to add to your kit. Highly recommended.
