Revainrating 5 out of 5

Clear and LOUD; good for music too

The Revain shipping carton was heavier than expected with this one item. After unpacking the speaker, let me know why. It's much more powerful than my other speakerphone as it's built like a tank which makes it very durable. First, let me correct my misunderstanding of what other reviews might imply. Some say that when using AI recording there is no indicator that AI is on BUT there is a circular indicator surrounding the phone's functions and when AI is on this indicator is GREEN when speaking, and when AI is off is blue. This is how you can tell if the AI is enabled or not. I can confirm that the keyboard volume is reduced when AI is enabled, as I tested it with my keyboard just 12 inches from the device (and I pressed the keys firmly to make noise). The environment I'm testing this in is a PC running Windows 10. I was surprised when I connected the device to my PC using a BRADED cable (USB C on the side of the speaker, for easy connection, and Type A on my computer). , it connected so quickly I couldn't believe it. Certainly less than 2 seconds, maybe only 1. No adjustment needed; it automatically became my default speaker and recording device. What I like most about this speakerphone is its volume. I compared it to three other active speakers on my PC: the speakers in my monitor, another phone speaker, and now this M2 MAX. I set them all to 25% to play the same song. As expected, the monitor speakers sounded soft and tinny (no fun listening to music). My other speakerphone sounded great (eMeet Luna) but when this MAX kicked in it blew the rest away; quite loud. I turned it down from 25% to 10% and it was still a bit louder than the phone's other speaker! And both speakers were absolutely clean, with no distortion. I increased MAX to 100% and still no distortion (but I had to lower it as it was too loud <g>). Playing music on both this MAX and the Moon was enjoyable and COMFORTABLE to listen to; not so for my monitor speakers. In terms of sound quality, the eMeet speakers are really very good; voice clear and sharp, understandable; the sound is not distorted or muffled. There's no point in forcing meeting participants to do their best to hear what's coming out of the device or asking the person on the speaker to repeat it. As a side note, when I change the volume using the keys on the keyboard, the MAX indicator lights up. and down to reflect changes - neat; shows connectivity. I then tested the recording function by walking around the room and recording what I said on a PC. Playing my recording the MAX did a good job as it picked up my voice easily from 15-16 feet away, even when I turned around with a sweatshirt on my head it picked up my voice well from that distance. (Of course, the mics pick up your voice louder when you're closer, but still decent from 15 feet - I did actual measurements). In summary, this is a quality phone with a speaker that I like.
