Review on Mackie CR Series Dual-Driver Earphones: Professional Fit, Mic, and Control by Kristen Jeanguenat

Exceptionally clear, seems weak at low frequencies

I bought these headphones after seeing many conflicting reviews of other devices in the same price range. I mainly use them in sound editing monitors. The bass on them is sharp, but usually weak and swings instantly. The high frequencies are bright and clear, but it's difficult to fully enjoy them when the low frequencies are so muted. When you turn up the volume for more low-frequency power, the highs get a bit harsh. Pros: Very clear sound, no confusing mids, bright highs Cons: Difficult to get a good seal with silicone tips and they are uncomfortable. once I'm in decent shape. The tips have a seam where they fit snugly against the ear, which hurts a bit, as does the sharp edges of the case. Even with the best gasket I can get, the bass is a little weaker. A very rubbery cable means better sound transmission. than usual from cord2 GENERAL: I would NOT buy these again. Unfortunately, Revane won't let me return them. I'm happy with the clarity, but the lack of bass is disappointing, and it's not good to use while running or in noisy environments, as those highs get too harsh for you to be comfortable with when using the need to increase the volume. . I'm by no means an audiophile, so no snobbery. I just can't pretend they don't hurt my ears because of the piercing highs, lack of lows and poor fit. I'll try other tips to see if it solves some of my problems. I'll get back to you when I can.
