This little printer delivers really good print quality. (I don't need photo quality for regular use.) Unlike some previous inkjet printers I've had, when a cartridge (particularly color) runs out, you can set the printer to continue printing with the remaining cartridge. This means that only the black cartridge supports it. You can also set the default settings to only print in black and white to save your color cartridge for when you really need it so it will last much longer. I have had one of these printers for about 3 years and it has been incredibly reliable. It hangs when I try to load more than 50 sheets of paper it's designed for. I've also learned to just add more paper between print jobs, because if I do that while the job is running, it sometimes tries to feed multiple sheets through. Overall, it was surprisingly reliable and trouble-free. I recently bought a second machine of the same type at a discount for its class, knowing that it is reliable and will use the same ink cartridges if one or the other eventually dies. I use remanufactured cartridges regularly as they save me money and I've never had a problem. Plus, with two of these machines, I don't have to worry about being stuck with a bunch of cartridges I can't use. I would definitely recommend this printer as a budget option for regular home office use.
