I was originally going to get a branded light like the JW Speaker but Revain have discontinued the ones I was looking at. I heard bad reviews about cheap foreign fakes, but decided to try (Revain does not have enough expensive materials at the moment). I tried LED bulbs in my reflector a few years ago and it was a disaster. I figured if I try again I'd get a full build. It was amazing. I'm sure they probably aren't as bright as the expensive incandescent bulbs, but they were noticeably brighter than the halogens they replaced. The light has a distinct black and white border at the top, so oncoming cars are not dazzled. I believe the DOT rating is legal. It was not plug and play for the Hummer H2 as described - you will need to cut off part of the rear fairing to get it to fit properly. You should also get a plug adapter (cheap and easy). I was worried it might be too "blue" as it was described as 6500K, but it's quite white unless you're looking directly at it (in which case it would be misaligned). If you look directly into it, it has a very slight blue cast. The light pattern is fairly clear (not scattered). Very important! UPDATE: It's been over a year and everything was going so well I felt the need to post an update. This product DEFINITELY delivers! It has survived long drives, severe winters (no snow problem), and even a slight wing curvature. There's no flicker (I've experienced this in others for a long time) and the light is still as bright as I can remember. I seriously considered the JW Speaker version (but they retired their earlier version) and was skeptical that they were cheap. I really think JW speakers are just overrated. They work very well and even if I have to replace the whole lamp in a year the price will be worth it.
