It seems to work, but much better than bare hands.
Bought this glove so my husband could help me use the curling iron (he's still learning) on the back of my head without burning my fingers. Without her, he will not engage in curling. It doesn't block 100% of the heat, but it does prevent her from burning her fingers. I would recommend it to anyone who constantly burns their fingers with curling irons.
