Typically inexpensive chipboard construction
The simple design and height of the side tables convinced us. Pros: Easy to assemble but lots of parts. Looks nice. Cons: Cheap chipboard construction on flat surfaces. Rotating cam lock (will loosen over time). I found this when I drilled a pilot hole in the bottom of the floor protector leg and severed one leg with a screw, showing that the texture of the pressed powder is similar to that of wood.
