Reading from this drive is fine but I have no idea what's wrong with it. I've only had it for a few months, mostly on standby, and now it's practically unusable for everyday use. Whether it's writing small or large files to it, 500KB files or 20GB files, it takes a very long time, with speeds ranging from as little as 2MB/s to 10MB/s. I think I need to contact the warranty department for this item. I've never dropped it or anything like that and it reads great at 110MB/s. When I originally bought it, I was able to write on it much faster. I might need to format it a bit but right now it has 2TB free and it doesn't have many individual files so I'm not sure yet. I've tried multiple computers and USB 3.0 hubs and found that these USB ports are capable of gigabit speeds. (More than 100MB/s). Never had a problem with a western digital drive :/
