Good glass works best for food jars and canisters

The glass these jars are made of seems to be thick enough not to break. I bought them because they were a "double deal" so the price was right. My intention was to use these for a sourdough starter. The lids are plastic, which I don't pay much attention to, but I won't use lids on SD starter jars. I think they are worth the purchase price.
