We ordered four of these for our grandchildren. As a result, they returned two, but they should have returned everything. They work well when connected. But no matter what we tried, the batteries wouldn't stay in place. They need to be "squished in" as they fit snugly, but even if you make sure they're in place, they won't stay in place. They slide out even when the player is stationary, rendering the player useless as a portable CD player. This is a clear design flaw. Love the size and it's a really cute CD player, especially for younger kids. But of the four players ordered, each had the same problem.
