Update: Unfortunately in November 2019, 6 months after purchase, the spring on the microphone clip broke. So I'm deducting a star. The headset is still functional, only the microphone should hang out. Too bad it broke after only 6 months. OG Message: I bought this in late May 2019 so I wouldn't have to deal with the unpredictability of film sets that have enough PA headsets. I chose this one because it comes with both a pair of standard earbuds and a pair of earbuds, which was a really handy entry-level speaker set at a very good price point. It's compatible with most Motorola CP200 radios that I've seen on most movie sets and even some Motorola radios. So far this observation has worked really well in all weather and conditions: rain, heat, sweat, transport, falling to the ground, etc. As a 5ft female, I personally prefer the shorter cord. ; Many kits offer standard 2-wire monitoring, which meant a lot of extra wires on my shorter frame that often get caught on various film gear, doorknobs, C-racks, and furniture. The shorter length greatly reduced this hazard while still giving me enough length to comfortably adjust the position of my walkie-talkie on my belt. The cord may be too short for a person half a foot tall or taller than me. The microphone is ergonomic and clicks, almost like a fidget toy, it's better not to press it too hard. A small downside would be the mic clip, I wish it was wider than the one near the ear tube for easier clipping to clothing. The earbud is relatively comfortable and the pink color makes it almost invisible in my ear. (I have fair skin) which makes the headset invisible to those running to coffee. The shape is actually too big for my ear; I wore it correctly, with the big lip up, as instructed in the instructions at the beginning. Then I noticed that the big protrusion and shape size started hurting the ear after about 6-8 hours; So I flipped it, now I wear the earbud backwards, with the big lip down (you need to wear the left and right earbud on opposite sides). This solved my problem, I'm now perfectly comfortable wearing the eartip this way for 12-16+ hours of shooting days and it's holding up very well. I carry a spare pair of standard earbuds as they work great as a pair of earbuds and as a backup in case something happens to the earbuds. At first I didn't and I ended up getting a rather large, painful pimple at the entrance of my left ear canal that made wearing the spy unbearable for several days. It's also a good idea to have a spare earbud with you to switch sides. When I have time I will come back and clarify how long this observation lasts.
