*Updated December 2020* The plating on the shank of these earrings has chipped. Anything under the covers is very irritating to my daughter's ears and causing a serious infection! I also bought a pair as a gift. I really hope that doesn't happen to them. Previous review: Very cute earrings. Bought these for my daughter because she got her ears pierced 6 weeks ago and was finally able to change her earrings. She has only worn it once so far, but she likes it very much. No irritation yet. We only sent the other piercing earrings back because she was afraid of losing them in the pool! I wanted a nice, inexpensive earring that wouldn't irritate her ears like my cheap ones. So far, so good.
