Not sealed!? good for the face

I first came across this cream around 1986 from a colleague. Before the advent of the internet, she had to order by mail and ask if others would order in bulk for cheaper. I got 3 cans. It was wonderful. I have always had sensitive skin on my hands and feet that was prone to severe dryness, cracking and flaking. Other lotions, creams, oils, etc. caused more irritation either immediately or over time - and believe me, I've tried EVERYTHING. With this thing - instant relief. It helps a little, a few strokes a day kept my skin in good condition. That's why I used wool wax for many years, but then I lost the information about the order. I just went back to other brands and forgot about this brand for about 20 years. However, I recently noticed that the high lanolin cream was the only thing that worked remotely and it reminded me of wool wax. I thought maybe I could find him online and indeed Revane was found. I don't know if the makers or retailers are the same as they were a few decades ago, but the ingredients and jar looked the same, so I ordered a jar with great excitement. When it arrived, apparently just thrown without protective packaging in a huge box containing another large item, it was UNSEALED - no outer seal, no inner seal! Worse, when I opened it, half of the cream's surface was perfectly smooth, clean, and apparently untouched; the other half looked out at the whole world like someone was running their fingers across the surface to taste a little! EUUUUU! BUT, since my hands were damp, cracked, and sore from vigorous brushing, I carefully picked up some of the untouched side. And it was the same wonderful product I remembered - I felt better straight away. For the past few days I've been gently dipping into the "good" side of the glass and my hands are almost completely healed. (I dug about 1/2 inch out of the "bad" side and threw it out, but I still feel gross that my stuff was tampered with!) NO IF IT'S NOT SEALED! So disappointing!

Pros
  • Heals chapped skin and protects against dryness!
Cons
  • Fading
