Review on BougeRV Ski & Snowboard Racks 3.0 Anti-Theft Lock Extension Sliding Feature 16'' Fits 3 Boards Crab Mounting System Square/Round/Aero/Oval Cross Bars by Ryan Whatley

OK product, but upon close examination, I am skeptical and worry

This "BougeRV Ski & Snowboard Racks 2.0 with Anti-Theft Lock, Extension with Sliding Feature, 28' Fits 6 Pairs Skis or 4 Snowboards, Universal Mounting System Fits for Square/ Round/ Aero/ Oval Cross Bars (28 INCH)" is easy to install, and easy to use. I mounted it and used a few time without issues. The overall design is ok, and the overall build/material is ok.Upon closer examinations of all the attachment points, and the hardware (after hearing a few horror stories about this particular rack); I do see quite a few weak spots and can be potentially problematic. And I can see if I am carrying more then a few snowboards or skis, and that this rack can experience quite a bit of forces from the snowboards/skis, and there is a potential for hardware or plastic to fail and send my beloved boards/skis flying. So, from then on, when I am using this, after I put in my boards and skis in, I climb up on my roof, added a paracord and cross tie my boards/skis, the top of this rack, to the actual crossbar of my vehicle, just a peace of mine for me. 2 pieces of paracords, half a dozen of eagle scout knots, will avoid me the trouble to come back here and cry about my lost boards/skis. Should I need to do this? Absolutely not. But this is how I am moving on, to keep using this.Thank you for reading this review, I hoped that this review is helpful to you in support of your purchase decision.
