Buckle broken

Bought this belt 3 years ago (2018). The buckle has an unusual feature: the part of the buckle that slides over the free end of the belt when tightened, before the clasp is inserted into the hole at the other end of the belt, twists/turns. However. The buckle is not made of tool steel. The rest of the buckle, which clamps the part of the axle that "spins", is quite weak and tends to spread too far. In doing so, part of the "axle" slips out of the two small plugs held inside and the strap falls apart when trying to fasten it. I was able to place the buckle in a vise to squeeze the two tabs together and then hold them open to reinsert the rotating axle piece. But it turned out that the buckle is too easy to bend. I don't expect my fix to hold. Make sure you have a "spare" belt or pair of suspenders. Murphy's Law states that this belt will let you down when you need it most.
