Review on πŸŽ’ Osprey Women's Backpack Picante X Small: Sleek and Compact Design for Style and Convenience by Jean Ohm

Maybe I just don't know how to wear it. but it wasn't comfortable at all

This should be the best backpack on the market but I just don't feel it. In January I went to the sport shop (Scheels), checked all the backpacks and adjusted the backpack. I was carrying an inexpensive model I bought from Costco years ago, but I bought a Deuter baby carrier which helped me understand how much a really good backpack can take, so it's time for an upgrade. I chose the Osprey and liked the Ariel's removable daypack cover. I was XS fit (I'm 5ft 2in) and planning to buy a backpack soon. Well then my trip was canceled due to COVID-19 so I put the purchase on hold until my husband and I managed to get the Mount Whitney permits. I took this backpack from Revane. When it arrived I watched Osprey's YouTube video on the backpack fit. I tried to set it up for myself and then packed and prepared for our trip. He weighed just under 30 pounds without water so not too bad. The strap felt stiff as cardboard and was painful to wear, but I figured I was just doing something wrong. On the way to the hike (50 miles, 3 days including climbing the highest peak in 48 states) we stopped at REI, muted the belt and asked me to make sure I was wearing it properly (weighted). All is well. It still hurt a little and I hadn't even started the hike yet. But it has to be the best backpack out there, or maybe I just had to shape it?! I was not sure. Carrying this backpack was such a pain for the entire 50 miles of our hike. My hips and shoulder bones were so sore and bruised. There was a feeling of stiffness and discomfort. I'd rather carry my cheap backpack again than this one. What am I doing wrong? What am I doing wrong?!

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
