I need a medium gray background for field work. This background is pretty close to a solid matte 18% gray for a low price. This material is easy to work with and hangs well. (Once you've steamed out the folded creases before shipping, you MUST steam out those damn creases!) It's not too thin, but any light behind it will leak through. (But to be honest, almost every backdrop I've worked with lets light in through a window unless it's as hard and thick as a board.) Its actual dimensions are closer to 9'7"x 19'6". You lose the material used to make the rod pocket and edge gussets; but I won't blame them for that because it's fairly common measurement practice. (Nobody wants 6 inches to go missing. As long as they don't move 3 inches from the background and shoot a large group. ;-) I wouldn't buy this background because they give you 3 clips. I don't like this clip style. those little orange things keep spinning the wrong way on me; and I tend to break handles on these plastic clips. Get a set of metal clips with molded rubber/plastic ends. Just buy this background because it's a good background at a good price if you want a solid gray background.
