After my second grade grandson started out with his sneakers tied every morning and came home untied every day, I had to buy these shoes. At first he thought they looked weird without a tie, but after 2 days he didn't want to wear anything else. To be honest when he was untied at school he NEVER tied them - I never found out why. Now I don't have to worry about him tripping and he doesn't look like a scumbag under his shoes anymore.
