My favorite natural deodorant

Yes, this is amazing. I started my natural deodorant journey (yes, it was a journey) about a year ago. My bright personality decided to start the transition in late spring when it was already 80 degrees. It took about 3-4 weeks for my body to fully adjust to not using an antiperspirant. The first week was the worst. I felt smelly every day even after sitting at the table. I felt like I was sweating more than usual and was about to give up. I've read a lot of blogs about it and how you really just need to go through a transition period before you decide to give up. In the second week my armpits turned brown. BROWN. The?!? I had my hair removed with a laser ten years ago and I was sure I wouldn't let it go on like this, but I've been waiting for it. I'm so glad I did. By the middle of the third week, the sweating had decreased significantly and the brown discoloration had disappeared. I chalked it up to my "detox". I mean, you've been unnaturally stuffing your armpits with aluminum and chemicals for YEARS, blocking your body's natural stress response and cooling mechanisms. I knew it would be difficult. For the first two weeks I used alcohol based cotton balls to prep my armpits and it helped a lot (I don't have to do that anymore). I didn't start my journey with Green Tidings. I started with Primal Pit Paste, which I still really like. I've also tried Ava Anderson (now Pure Haven), LaVanilla, Jason, Toms, Crystal Essence, and DeodoMom. I would rate them as effective as follows: Green Tidings Primal Pit Paste (lavender) Pure Haven (although I didn't like the smell) LaVanilla (they had great flavors but not strong enough) DeodoMom Jason, Toms and Crystal Essence are all related with blah. Green Tidings stood out for several reasons. Its application is very smooth. When using Primal Pit Paste, I had to briefly hold it in front of a hair dryer to soften it up. Green Tidings is already smooth (not as smooth as LaVanilla, but works better). I only need a very small amount of Green Tidings, it's almost difficult to apply a whole lot because the formula is a little heavy, but you get used to the amount you need. The GT also didn't soil my clothes as badly. When I say "stain," I mean my underarm clothing looks "darker." The GT dried out quite a bit and I could brush or scrape it off like dust. Not sure if this has anything to do with the amount of coconut oil used, but it's a bonus. Anyway, I'm a big believer in avoiding chemical-laden deodorants. GT is a great option. If you're just starting out, do yourself a favor and give yourself a full three weeks (no cheating) before you start lining your pit pores with toxic sludge again :)
