When I first bought my iPad 7th gen my computer was able to charge it but soon after I got the new version of iPadOS installed it started saying "don't charge" and although it didn't lose any charge it never got charged. This is annoying because if the internet ever goes down, I'll use my iPad's cellular connection via the USB cable, which will drain the battery. To be honest I never thought of a powered USB hub, I haven't had a USB hub since the early 2000's when I had a Windows ME Compaq computer with two USB 1.1 ports. My current computer that I built has many USB ports of different USB versions from 2.0 to 3.1. Anyway, here it is 20 years later and now I have a USB hub again. The build quality is pretty good and it charges my iPad when connected to a computer.
