If something I want to buy for my dog can be easily returned I would order two different sizes as sometimes clothing/accessories don't match the size chart. I bought a medium and a large aviator hat for my 6 month old pug pup. Medium size fits him perfectly! The material is very soft and feels good in the hands so I don't think my pug will be uncomfortable. It's really cute about him and I'm glad I was able to order the Revain as it was supposed to match his Halloween costume. I bought him another hat on Etsy that only has a string attached to his head.
