We have had this bridge for a year and a half since health finally forced us to move our beautiful mahogany king bed to the guest room and purchase 2 twin XL mattresses , which are separately adjustable frames. When we first got the bridge it worked a bit well, but the mattresses often started to loosen and swallowed the bridge. The problem with adjustable bed platforms is that the platforms themselves are held together, but they have absolutely no ribs on the sides to hold the mattresses firmly against each other to allow the bridge to do its job. I can't understand why the manufacturers of these things don't address this issue. Mattresses go everywhere and don't even ask about the impact on our sex lives. But my husband has a strong libido and a wood shop and he had to work! See photos. These pieces of wood are firmly attached to the frame and the large carriage bolts go through slots in the wood so you can loosen them to move the pieces of wood closer together or further apart. That makes this bridge perfect! It feels like we're lying on the same double bed. If you have two double XLs that you glue together that are NOT on an adjustable frame, you can purchase a strap to hold them together, but separate adjustable frames require special care.
