When they talk about replacing valves they are not kidding. That's all - a single replacement damper. There is NOTHING else in the box. The cheap, flimsy, thin, two-piece plastic bracket needed to attach the cover to the metal loop that hangs on top of the unit is NOT INCLUDED. Why don't they record it? PetSafe - I ASK YOU - WHY DON'T YOU INCLUDE THIS PART? I'm guessing because it's supposed to be a near-penny product and pennies don't grow on trees. Our old hinge brace became brittle from the cold and just broke when I unscrewed it - which is really shocking because it's a cheap flimsy flimsy piece of plastic after all. Why wasn't it metal like the anchor loop it attaches to? That's a great question and I'm glad I asked it. Possibly - and this is really just a guess - but perhaps because each of them could cost more than twopence. So now it's 20 degrees wind outside and a huge hole in our door and colossal gusts of freezing wind blowing in because I can't even fit the original extra valve that didn't need to be replaced. Looks like we'll need to hang some fleece blankets over the opening so our three dogs and four cats can go outside and mind their own business until the manufacturer comes up with some sort of permanent solution [snorts]. Including plastic for a penny. With those interchangeable flaps - or making them out of metal at all - this whole situation could have been avoided. I spent $150 on the original door - $600 on a new door that could fit a dog door - AND paid for it to be professionally installed, and now it's absolutely DOA. I am your client and you owe me. Get it right. Judging by the reviews, you have a lot of other customers that you owe. You suckle at PetSafe. Have a nice day!
