This sleeve fits perfectly and is snug. The pattern is the same as on the web, and most importantly, it's thick. There's so much padding you can't feel the metal plate underneath. I had no problems installing it. The cover has a kind of satin finish that prevents water from penetrating the pad. I haven't been able to test the stain resistance yet, but that's also one of the reasons why I got these. I always have this problem with ironing board covers. That's partly why I got rid of my last one. So far I've been using this product for about a week and no blemishes have appeared.
