It is useful to have a bedside table to keep glasses while you sleep. Easy fit - not too tight, not too loose - with big glasses. Stay in place pretty well. It has a detachable magnetic base, but I'm not entirely sure what the purpose of separating the parts is. I think if you wanted to put the mount part in the cup? I do not know. [Without this I used an old clamshell goggle case which sounded like a gunshot every time it closed; Otherwise, if I just left my glasses on the table, my cat would play with them and then run off with them to who knows where, leaving me blind in the morning.]
