It may seem difficult to understand at first, but it really isn't that bad. Think of it like this: First you set the time. Then click the wheel icon to start programming. I write what I want on a piece of paper because it ends very quickly. The first thought that pops up is the choice of F mode or how it will go away. You cannot choose a different one each time. You can't choose between different colors either. That's normal, at least for me. You have 3 options: On/Off, 15 minutes or 30 minutes. I chose 15 for my tank. Then click the wheel again. You will see L1. Click again and enter your first time. Mine turns on at 07:00. Press the dial icon again and select the intensity. You can see in my picture that I slowly start at L25. If you press the wheel icon again and L2 appears, follow the same sequence again by pressing the settings button to cycle through your options. Mine goes up to 60 over 1000. Keep doing this through the levels, I use all 6. I don't know how I get past the level once you've matched all 6, but it's no problem for me, I like the light pattern . to reach the top and go down, so I like to use all 6 levels. L0 (L zero) is off. Changing and adjusting is easy, you just hold the adjustment button until it flashes, press and hold quickly and it will cycle through all the stages allowing you to change the time and intensity. Another caveat, I use it with a nicrew classic LED plus (which despite the description doesn't have a timer) and if you press any of the buttons on it you'll play hell trying to get it back. the way you want. I made this mistake and thought I fixed it, but apparently the intensity was off. I thought it was a timer but today I re-read the instructions for the light and reset it by holding down the two buttons, it made a world of difference. The timer takes precedence over the lighting controls, but you can still control them. All I did was mess up my phases. Now I leave it alone and let it do its thing. Hope this helps clear things up.
