Don't travel for business much so never had a garment bag and when I decided I needed one for a writer's conference I was attending, I purchased this. And it's great in more ways than I anticipated. There's a zipper opening for your shoes so they are separate from everything else on one end and another flat zip pocket you could put any number of travel items in, including your phone when going through security at the airport. And when the ends are zipped up, there's space inside for other essentials like a change of clothing, your toiletries (even in the ziplock bag) and maybe your tablet or a book. All handy as a carry on. But just as great if you're driving.
