My dog loves this mat! She immediately started lying on it when I pulled her out and when she's not pressing against us she's lying on this rug. I bought it for the living room. She has a bed in her bedroom, but she didn't have her own space in the living room and occupied 90% of the couch all the time. I was looking for something cheap that wouldn't look awful in our living room and that just hit the spot. My dog also really enjoys eating his treats on this mat. Whenever I give her a treat that takes more than a second to chew, she takes it out of whichever room she is in and chews/eats it on this rug. She clearly loves it and considers it her comfort zone. ADVANTAGES: Very soft. Reasonable size for a small dog (dog weighs 12 pounds, probably around 20-24 inches long, slightly longer with legs stretched forward). Goes well with neutral spaces. dog loves it. CONS: Slips easily. Definitely not a substitute for a dog bed (no sides to lean on/snuggle on).
