Rough 'n Tough - easy for everything

This is by far the best small purchase I've made. I bought this little gem about 2 years ago. It used to be $25 on Amazon. This thing has been very helpful to me. I lived in a hippie commune without much light, so this guy was my only source of light at night. The metal clips on it are very easy to attach to almost anything. And I like the magnets on it when I'm near something metallic. (Because yes, the magnets are very strong and will stick to fridges, cars, cutlery, etc.) The battery is pretty damn good too. When I first got it, life from full to dead probably lasted over 6 hours. When I used it I noticed that the lifespan was reduced, but not by much. Maybe now on the second setting it takes 4 hours to drain. BTW, if you don't want to blind anyone, the first brightest setting is /too/too bright. I recommend just using the second one, having used it for two years and never had a problem with the lower setting. Also, I feel a lot safer at night knowing I have a basic SOS alarm device. It works really well. I've used the charging features to give my phone a little boost, but it's charging slowly. I only see it in an emergency. Now I have two problems with it. First, it has a vaguely spherical shape, making it easy to drop. I've dropped it five times in my life, once catastrophically. The protective plastic cover came off, exposing the small LEDs inside. Otherwise the function is still very good. This was easily fixed with tape. I've since dropped it and haven't had any issues, but you can see the obvious crack in it. Second, the USB charging cable on it is too short. I wish something was done to make it last longer. I always have a few awkward situations where I want to plug it into a wall outlet/USB drive that's too high off the floor or doesn't have a convenient ledge to put it on. (Or a handy metal wall heater.) All in all, I like the thing. I've used it outdoors, indoors, underground, in the rain, camping, and other states. I'll probably buy another one to meet my offline needs. Would I buy again, recommend. 10/10
