The spring is definitely strong enough to hold a heavy flash like a Nikon SB700 or SB800

I use it to attach my light meter to my Spider Camera holster strap, but I've also used it to attach things to my LowePro belt. Self-adhesive tabs stick _very_ firmly to any smooth, clean surface (clean first with isopropyl alcohol, allow to dry completely), and a Velcro strap adds extra security. come off unless you intentionally and firmly open your jaws. The spring is certainly strong enough to hold heavy flashes like the Nikon SB700 or SB800. The self-adhesive tongue has a rounded edge, which simply inserts into the slot on the front of the holster and allows the device to swing freely. A separate spring holds it to the bottom of the slot to keep the device from falling out during use. A distinct click will be heard as the retaining spring engages the boss. Releasing the spring to remove the device from the holster is easy and natural: the button on the top of the holster is within reach of your thumb when holstering the device. and keeps the exposure meter immediately to hand. This also works for small portable radios.
